What'sMid-Day Meal?
Mid-day Meal (MDM) is a wholesome lately- cooked lunch served to children in government and government- backed seminaries in India. On 28 November 2001, the Supreme Court of India passed a accreditation stating,"We direct the State Governments/ Union Homes to apply the Mid Day Meal Scheme by furnishing every child in every Government and Government supported Primary School with a set noon mess."
Objects OfMid-Day Meal Scheme
The objects of the MDM scheme are
To increase the registration in the seminaries of the children who belong to underprivileged sections of the society.
To increase the attendance of the children in government and government- backed seminaries.
To retain the children studying in class I to VIII.
To give nutritive support to the children studying in the abecedarian stage, especially in the failure-affected areas.
To address hunger and malnutrition and ameliorate socialisation among gentries.

Features OfMid-Day Meal Scheme
The features of the MDM scheme are
Every academy should have a aseptic cuisine structure for hygienically cookedmid-day refections.
Themid-day refections are to be served only on the academy demesne on all working days of the academy.
The headmaster or headmistress is entitled to use the academy finances on account ofmid-day mess fund prostration. Still, the same will be refunded to themid-day mess fund as soon as the academy is credited with the same.
Quality particulars with AGMARK are carried for cooking themid-day refections in the seminaries.
Two or three adult members taste the cooked refections from the academy operation commission.
The Food and Medicines Administration Department of the State can collect samples for icing the quality and nutritive value of the refections.
The State Steering-cum Monitoring Committee (SSMC) will oversee the perpetration of this scheme, including establishing a medium to maintain the quality and nutritive norms of the refections.
