The notification announcing commencement of election process will be issued on November 29 , while the last date for filing nominations is December 04
Gujarat State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday announced that elections to 10,879 gram panchayats in the state will be held on December 19, and the results will be announced on December 21. The notification announcing commencement of election process will be issued on November 29 , while the last date for filing nominations is December 04, , State Election Commissioner, said.
Gram panchayat choices aren't fought on party symbols. Each namer is needed to cast two votes, one for Sarpanch’s post and another for taking panchayat member from his/ her ward.
According to State Election Commission, the total number of registered choosers for these pates is over1.89 crore, including90.82 lakh women. Polling will be held at cells in wards.
Ballot boxes will be used rather of EVMs, he said, adding, “ We don't have enough EVMs, so we will use further than ballot boxes. Online voting installation is also not available, still, we will give NOTA (none of the below) option for the first time in panchayat choices in Gujarat.”
In another first, affirmations submitted by campaigners will be uploaded for public viewing on SEC’s website.
